Frequently Asked Questions
When should we book our portrait session?
The sooner the better. I can only accommodate a limited number of sessions per month, so please contact me as soon as you are ready to book and I will reserve a spot for you on my calendar.
When is the best time to photograph a Newborn?
When the baby is between 5 and 10 days old. At that time, babies are very sleepy and not as sensitive to touch and sound. Sessions go much more smoothly and a much wider variety of beautiful curled-up infant poses can be achieved. As the babies pass the 10-day mark, they become more used to our environment, more sensitive and alert, and may become colicky. This makes them feel uncomfortable during the session which largely affects the outcome of the shoot.
What if I book a Newborn Session and my baby comes early or late?
Unless you are having a scheduled c-section, that is expected. For that reason, all my newborn appointments are on a tentative basis. We will keep in touch for the latest updates. Once your baby arrives, we can arrange a more suitable appointment for your newborn photography session. As long as your booking is complete and you are on my calendar, you are guaranteed a session.
When is the best time to have a Maternity Session?
The best time for a maternity photography session is between week 30 and 35 of your pregnancy. You will have a beautiful baby bump at this time and likely still be comfortable to pose for the portraits.
Do you provide the props for the Newborn Session?
Yes, you don't have to worry about anything at all. I provide everything we need for the newborn session including all the cute little hats, headbands, tutus, blankets, wraps, and baskets.
When is the best time to photograph babies in their first year?
There are several milestones in a baby's first year that I recommend having a portrait session for. Please read my article When is the Best Time to Photograph Babies to learn more about milestones for baby photography.
When can we see our photographs?
The portraits are ready in about a week after the session and presented to you in a beautiful slideshow during your in-person artwork design consultation / ordering appointment.
Do you retouch our portraits?
Yes. We edit, retouch, and make all creative adjustments on every final portrait.
When will my artwork be ready?
It depends on the artwork you ordered. For most products, it takes two to four weeks; and for fine art albums, six to eight weeks. I will let you know more accurately when you place your order.
Do you sell Gift Certificates?
I do offer Gift Certificates and shower registries.
Do you accept Credit Cards?
Yes. I accept all major credit cards, Pay Pal, and of course cash and check.
