Chiguchirim's newborn photography session, joined by his mother Emma and his father, was one to remember. As described in Emma's Pregnancy blog prior to this, she overcame hardships that many mothers can face. But despite the challenges, she valiantly shows her undying gratitude for having received the gift of their son. In other words, everything on her path was found to be worth it. I am happy to have captured her blessing, Chiguchirim, in a way that she can cherish these moments with him for the rest of their lives.
I would repeat every moment I had to face to have my son
"My love for my son is out of this world, I will give my life for him. I first felt this love the moment I saw an ultrasound of my child and had his heartbeat for the first time. And I feel it the most when I am breast feeding him and he stares into my eyes and I do the same. Though I just had my son, I know that my life is forever changed. My priorities are so focused now on my son and ensuring I provide the best life for him. I have always known I will make a great mother and was just praying for God to make it possible.
Words can’t express how I feel seeing my husband with our son. It just makes my love for him even deeper and stronger. I thank God each day for blessing me with a man of his caliber, who understands the responsibilities that comes with fatherhood. He is so good with everything, from changing his diaper, to feeding him, to bathing, and putting him to sleep. But the most exciting one is him being so sensitive to his cries at night.
Having our baby has made our bond even stronger. We both have learned how extremely patient we can both be, and how deeply dedicated we are to doing what’s best for our son. We are helping each other by working with each other’s schedules so one parent isn’t completely worn out.
I would repeat every moment I had to face to have my son if I had to do it all over, because it was all worth it. I couldn’t change a thing, because I truly believe this is how God wanted my journey to motherhood be fulfilled.
Three pieces of advice I would give to an expecting mom would be: every pain you experience during labor will all worth it when you hold your child. Holding your child for the first time gives you a deeper meaning to love, and life is definitely going to change for the best. I highly advise being patient, love every change your body has to undergo, and don’t be hard on yourself. Having a child is a blessing, enjoy every moment of it.
Keeping and creating memories are very important things to me. This portrait session is a celebration for the joy that has been bestowed upon my life and a gift I can always give my son as he gets older."
