Nazak's maternity photography session captures her radiate pregnancy glow. Nazak shares her journey of becoming pregnant during the pandemic. Just like many other women approaching forty she was met with societal and biological pressures of having a child soon. Women are often encouraged to conceive earlier rather than later but Nazak's journey sheds light on those who do not fit into that mold.
I'm 37 years old so my biological clock was ticking and based on what these doctors told me, it was ticking fast.
"When I first found out I was pregnant I think I was in shock. It didn't really register in my head that I was having a baby till a month went by. I honestly thought it was going to be hard to get pregnant. After going to a fertility doctor with my boyfriend we were told my egg count was very low and that freezing my eggs would be a challenge.
They informed us that it wouldn't be impossible but would include more hormone therapy that would cost a lot of money. I mean the amount of money it would have cost us just to do something that may not even work? No thank you!
So we decided to just wait. Now i'm 37 years old so my biological clock was ticking and based on what these doctors told me, it was ticking fast. So even though we wanted to wait a year before we got pregnant, we got hit by this crazy pandemic and decided it was the best time to have a baby.
Both of us didn't think it would be easy to get pregnant, since I was told I have an extremely low egg count, but after one try it worked! So either it was a true miracle or these doctors were just trying to make a lot of money off of us. Either way, we didn't care, we were having a baby!!!
I also kind of knew instantly that my body felt different. Deep down I knew I was pregnant before I knew I was pregnant. Then when the time came to take that exciting, nail biting pregnancy test, I told myself that it was going to be negative. But it was positive!! But I needed to make sure, so I took another one, then another and yes, another. That's when I decided it's time to share the news with the boyfriend.
I called him at work and 30 mins later he was home with 10 different pregnancy tests. And you better believe I took them all. In a span of a couple days of course. We were both so excited and shocked that we wanted that feeling to last all week. So yes, I took many pregnancy tests to make sure I was still pregnant. Yes we are crazy!
We are now on the home stretch and waiting for our baby to come next month. Our sweet little baby boy."
